In excellent condition, an original and extremely rare, a large, vintage art print featuring the exhibition held from 1985 - 1986 of Cesar Manrique’s abstract paintings, sculptures and architecture in Munich, Germany.
I have only seen this one print in my 45 years of collecting. Although I did have the original exhibition catalogue.
The exhibition was titled “Kunst & Umwelt” (art and the environment) and took place in Munich at the Gasteig Kulturzentrum (cultural centre) and was organised by the Münchner Volkshochschule (Munich Adult Education Centre).
The sculpture featured on the print is the huge parque maritimo complex in Tenerife.
The exhibition highlighted Manrique's philosophy of "Art-Nature/Nature-Art," focusing on the integration of human creativity with the natural environment. It occurred during a period of significant international recognition for the artist, shortly before his high-profile collaborations in Germany, such as designing the BMW Art Car in 1990.
